The Exiteers Join Forces on the National Green Grid

The Exiteers are proud to announce their role as a delivery partner in the National Green Grid (NGG) — a transformative initiative to power Scotland, and the UK more broadly, into a cleaner future. Their role is to lead on the development of a net-zero energy park located in Dumfries and Galloway, which will form part of the broader NGG.

The NGG is designed to decarbonise heavy transport and digital infrastructure by creating a scalable, AI-optimised microgrid network. It will deliver 20MW microgrid service stations strategically located along Scotland’s national and regional transport corridors. Each hub will combine renewable generation, battery energy storage systems, EV and hydrogen refuelling infrastructure, and localised AI-driven energy management, with scope for co-located data centres and vertical farming solutions. Together, these elements will form a singular digital IaaS platform, helping to power the UK’s transition to a net-zero economy.

Developed in partnership with Argyll Energy Development Ltd, Schneider Electric, Confluence IA, Lenovo, and others, the NGG will:

  • Support the UK AI Strategy via high-availability compute zones.

  • Advance Net Zero 2050 goals through low-carbon transport and electrification.

  • Contribute to Levelling Up by prioritising rural and constrained areas.

The Exiteers’ involvement demonstrates their commitment to leading-edge green energy solutions. The business is excited to help build a sustainable energy network that accelerates decarbonisation while creating new opportunities for communities and industries alike.
